Kidney Dialysis & It's Importance
The human body consists of two bean-shaped organs that lie below the rib cage on both sides of the human spine. Kidney helps to remove waste and extra fluid from our body to maintain blood pressure, also helps to keep our bones strong. It also ensures that the required amount of minerals are maintained in our blood. Kidney helps in making the hormone that helps to create red blood cells in your body.
What is Dialysis?
Dialysis is a process of filtering your blood and maintain the water and minerals level in the human body. The dialysis process works as a function of your kidneys. There are two types of dialysis practiced in the present situation by Kidney patients. Dialysis is done when a human kidney is not in a state to function properly.
Hemodialysis:
Haemodialysis is a process of filtering your blood by passing it through a dialysis machine through a Catheter or fistula created in a human body. Haemodialysis can be done at a Dialysis center or Home with a setup of Home hemodialysis machines.
Peritoneal Dialysis:
Peritoneal Dialysis is a process in which the blood is cleaned inside your body. In this process, a special fluid is inserted in your peritoneal cavity that absorbs waste from the blood. This fluid remains in your body for a few hours and it is drained out through an outlet.
Why do we need required dialysis?
Dialysis is done on the patient with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Those patients whose kidney becomes weak to maintain the function of the body are required to go through kidney transplant or Dialysis. Dialysis is started when toxic levels in the patient’s body tend to grow abruptly. Symptoms for kidney failure are Nausea, Fatigue, swelling in the body, etc. and dialysis starts depending on the patients' age, energy level, overall health, Lab tests, and willingness to commit to a treatment plan.
